Shamanic & ritual work
Earth-based practices, ancestral connection, and healing across realms
Shamanic and ritual work brings earth-based, ancestral, and spiritual practices into the healing process. Some of what we carry lives in dimensions that talk therapy alone cannot reach, and the ancestors, the elements, and the spirit world are active participants in healing.
I am initiated in stick divination in the Dagara tradition, an ancient shamanic technology originating in Burkina Faso, West Africa, and am in ongoing mentorship with my Elders. I work from an animistic perspective, meaning I understand the natural world as alive and ensouled. The water, the earth, the stones, the fire are presences we work with in relationship, not as symbols or props.
If you are looking for a standalone divination session, that is a separate offering. Learn more about Dagara Divination here.
How This Shows Up in Therapy
Much of this work centers on helping cycle breakers develop real, ongoing relationships with their ancestors. The ancestors are a resource. They want to help repair what was broken in the lineage, and part of what we do together is build the capacity to receive that help, to communicate with those who came before, and to clear what has been passed down through generations that was never meant to keep being carried.Ritual gets woven into therapy in different ways depending on what the work calls for. We might build an altar, work with water or earth, or use elemental offerings as part of tending wounds that have lived in the lineage for generations. I work with the Wedeme, the spirits of the wild, and with the Kontomblé and ancestral spirits when they arise in the work.Grief ritual is central to this. I understand grief as medicine rather than something to move through quickly, and ritual gives it a shape and a direction that processing alone rarely can.I also do transpersonal work when it arises: guided journeys to meet guides or archetypal figures, soul retrieval, and psychopomp work helping stuck souls or energies move on.
My Training
I have been in ongoing mentorship with Dr. María Hetényi in the Dagara lineage since September 2023, including her GRACE: Shame Release and Ancestral Healing Retreat and The Phoenix Process: Sacred Art of Grief Tending. I completed my merging ceremony in February 2026 and am initiated in stick divination.
