Chiron in Taurus: Tending to the Wounded Feminine Consciousness
As Chiron enters Taurus for the next three months before retrograding back into Aries, there is a consciousness shift felt in the animal body.
There is a slowing down. A flicker of aliveness.
We have survived. We exist. We are breathing.
Coming off the adrenal consciousness of Chiron in Aries, in a hypervigilant state of fight or flight...
Can I exist? Am I allowed to exist?
A wounded masculine, war consciousness of doing and not stopping, pushing past our body's limit, fighting for the right to exist.
We have been in battle with our right to exist.
Who am I? What am I?
We have been in this fight for existence in our identities and in our masculine consciousness.
And we have won the right to exist.
With Chiron entering Taurus, this is surveying the aftermath of war.
The question shifts from do I exist, to am I worthy to exist, to is it safe to exist?
Is it safe to be alive? Is it safe to slow down? Is it safe to be? Is it safe to inhabit the body, the animal body? Is it safe to sleep? Is it safe to take my time? Is it safe to savor? Is it safe to LIVE?
If Chiron in Aries is a reckoning with the wounded masculine consciousness, then Chiron in Taurus is an opening to the broken heartedness of the feminine consciousness, of the feminine heart, of the grandmothers.
The masculine consciousness fought for the right to exist. The feminine consciousness asks if she is worthy of it.
We have survived the war. And now we feel how much we had to bulldoze past: past the feminine, past the body, past our desires, past our fears, past our threshold of safety, just to simply exist.
And now that we do exist, can we learn to live? Are we worthy of living, not just surviving, but truly living? What are our beliefs around worthiness? How many are circulating in the animal body that are not ours to metabolize alone, but come from our grandmothers?
There is an actual safety in slowing the body down with Taurus. And within that same safety, a flicker of aliveness. There is a turning toward what it actually means to live. What does this look like?
Why do we have no blueprint for living? And why after all of this suffering and surviving do we still feel a lack of nourishment around mothering ourselves?
The antidote to Chiron in Taurus, to living, to BEING, is Scorpio.
For many of our ancestors, there was no opportunity to live. There was only the fight to survive.
And the Death Mother and the Maiden Mother are iterations of that survival.
The Death Mother is what we inherit when love curdles into survival. The unprocessed grief passed down through the line, showing up as self-abandonment and self-hatred, as searching for mother in unsafe places, without a roadmap.
The Maiden Mother is not as cruel, though she is merely a child herself, still searching to be mothered, still hungry, still waiting to be seen. She cannot give what she never received.
They are the distorted feminine consciousness born from the wounded masculine, the archetypes and energies that have allowed us to survive, that have allowed us to live this far.
Now that we know we exist, this is an opening for healing.
