WHAT IS TRAUMA-INFORMED THERAPY?

Trauma-informed therapy creates a safe, compassionate space where your nervous system can begin to settle, and your story can unfold without pressure or pathologizing.

Healing happens in small, sustainable steps—not in forcing breakthroughs.

In this approach, we honor the body's wisdom and the mind’s protective patterns. Together, we work at your pace, using curiosity, compassion, and co-regulation to gently unwind survival strategies and reconnect to your aliveness.

Trauma-Informed Therapy: Working With the Nervous System

True trauma work doesn’t push—it attunes, paces, and listens. It’s a slow unwinding, a reintroduction to safety, and a reawakening of your capacity to feel whole again.

  • Titration and Safety: We work in micro-moments. Titration means we never flood the system with more than it can hold. Your body sets the pace, and I follow its cues with care.

  • Body as a Guide: The nervous system holds stories that words can’t always reach. We pay attention to somatic signals—tightness, breath, impulse, sensation—and build a vocabulary of trust with your body.

  • No Fixing, Just Witnessing: This is not about “fixing” you. It’s about witnessing your experience with gentleness and building resilience from the inside out.

  • Empowerment Through Choice: Consent and autonomy are central. You always have choice—in what you share, how deep we go, and what tools we use. This work is a collaboration, not a directive.

Hi, I’m Stephanie Brumfield

Licensed Therapist in California, Holistic Therapy & Spiritual Support

Hi, I’m Stephanie Brumfield, a holistic spiritual therapist, certified astrologer, and eternal seeker. Deeply attuned to the subtle and sensitive aspects of life, I specialize in creating a compassionate space for individuals who feel misunderstood or out of place due to their neurodivergence, beliefs, or values. My work focuses on helping clients navigate familial disconnect, societal expectations, and spiritual awakenings, guiding them on a journey from black sheep to holy outsider.

As someone who is neurodivergent (AuDHDer), I value soulful, meaningful connections and draw inspiration from the wisdom of nature, especially trees. With a deep passion for ancestral work, mythology, astrology, trauma healing, and dreams, I integrate these elements into a practice that honors the cyclical nature of death, rebirth, and transformation - a reflection of my Scorpio Moon. Whether I’m researching, reading, or listening to 90s grunge, my approach to healing is grounded in energy medicine, spirituality, and the belief that personal healing can ripple outward to transform the collective.
